It is the mission of the Georgetown Highway Department to provide the best possible maintenance of the Towns infrastructure. All of our responsibilities are managed in a cost effective manner as existing budgets allow while not compromising safety and remaining sensitive to the needs of the citizens we serve.
We encourage citizens ideas and comments.
Department Highlights
- Maintain 65 miles of roadways
- Maintain 25 miles of sidewalks
- Grass mowing of parks
- Maintain 900+ drainage structures/appurtenances and associated piping
- Maintain bridges and culverts
- Maintain all traffic signs and pavement markings
- Street sweeping
- Tree removal and trimming
- Roadside brush cutting
- Snow/ice removal
Winter operations packages are available at the Highway Office or at Town Hall which includes suggestions on placing mailboxes.
